Soter (daimon) : ウィキペディア英語版 | Soter (daimon)
In Greek mythology, Soter was the spirit (daimon) of safety, preservation and deliverance from harm.〔(Theoi Project - Soter )〕 He was said to be the brother and husband of Praxidike and by her the father of Ktesios, Arete and Homonoia.〔(Suidas s. v. Praxidike )〕 (Note that both Soter and Ktesios were also cult titles of Zeus). Another source says that Soter was the husband of Peitharchia and father of Eupraxia.〔Aeschylus, ''Seven Against Thebes'' 223 ff〕 In the Orphic Hymns〔Orphic Hymn 29 to Persephone〕 Praxidike was identified with Persephone, Soter with Zeus, and their daughters Praxidikai with the Erinyes. Soteria (Σωτηρία), personification of the abstract concept of safety and salvation, was also worshipped by the Greeks. She had a sanctuary in Patrae, which was believed to have been founded by Eurypylos of Thessaly.〔Pausanias, ''Description of Greece'', 7. 19. 7; 7. 21. 7; 7. 24. 3〕 ==References==
